Scholarship

The Wilson Foundation offers students the opportunity to apply for funds through a scholarship to help offset expenses needed for educational enrichment.

Wilson Scholarship

Honoring the legacy of Henry B. and Theresa Wilson, who overcame obstacles in their lives, while remaining devoted to their family and community and advocating for equal opportunities in education for all children.

Award

A $12,000 College award to be used for tuition to an accredited 4-year college.

Demographic Outreach

Boonton High School, Mountain Lakes High School, Morris Knolls, and Morris Hills high school Seniors.

Financial

This award is based on merit and has no concern with personal family finances.  However, it is intended to be used for cost of attendance (tuition & room and board) only.  If you have received other scholarship or award monies this award can be reduced so all scholarship monies combined do not exceed 100% of annual tuition.

April 3rd, 2026

Important Details

We require a copy of the tuition bill, and the $12,000 will be sent directly to the school.

Renewability

This Scholarship is not renewable.

Applicants will be considered regardless of race, color, gender, religion, national origin, or disability.

Criteria

    • Complete the application here
      • G.P.A of 3.75 – 5.0 (weighted)
      • 2 Teacher recommendation letters that specifically address the student’s fitness for the Henry B. & Theresa Wilson Scholarship
      • 1 Personal recommendation letter
      • Most recent transcript and most recent report card from Senior year.
      • Essay (choose a topic below)
        1. How have you overcome adversity in your life? How are you like Henry B. Wilson? How will you keep the legacy of Henry B. Wilson alive in school and in your future career.
        2. What are your career pursuits and how do you see this money aiding you in achieving that goal?
        3. Write about a pivotal experience in your life that influenced your career path.
        4. What drives you to succeed? How do you define success? How do you, or will you, measure your own success?
        5. What topic are you passionate about in terms of making the world a better place? Why does that topic resonate for you?  What actions have you participated in or what do you foresee yourself doing in the future to effect that change in the world?
      • A ZOOM Interview with the Board or in person interview with a Board member may be requested of you by the Board.
